For the cake: 1 box white cake mix Ingredients called for on cake mix box For strawberry layer: 1 3.4 oz box strawberry flavor gelatin 1 cup boiling water
For chocolate layer: 1 cup heavy cream 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips For vanilla layer: 1 3.4 oz box vanilla flavor instant pudding mix 1 cup milk
Prepare and bake white cake according to package instructions in two 9-inch cake pans. Allow to cool completely.
Make strawberry layer: Dissolve gelatin in boiling water and stir in strawberries. Refrigerate until thickened, about 30 minutes.
Make chocolate layer: Heat cream until simmering. Add chocolate chips and whisk until smooth. Refrigerate until thickened, about 30 minutes.
Make vanilla layer: Whisk together instant pudding mix and milk for 2 minutes. Refrigerate until set, about 5 minutes.
To assemble, place one cake layer on plate. Spread with strawberry layer, then top with second cake layer. Frost entire cake with vanilla frosting.
Spoon chocolate pudding over top third of cake. Spoon vanilla pudding over middle third. Leave bottom third unfrosted. Use a knife to swirl pudding layers.
